New York, NY – October 22, 2013 – Luxury maison Montblanc unveils its new Madison Avenue boutique located in the heart of mid-town New York City. Known for its commitment to the highest standards of European craftsmanship, the new boutique boasts the very latest collections of exquisite timepieces, innovative writing instruments, fine jewelry for men and women, and artisanal leather goods. Expansive exterior floor to ceiling windows display the latest offerings from the luxury brand.
Loyal customers and global travelers alike will recognize the iconic Montblanc star, which will usher them into the contemporary 3,200 square foot store with beautiful Swarovski crystal curved glass floating chandeliers and a private client room for product viewings.
The interior of the store reflects Montblanc’s heritage– the celebration of the written word. With a wall dedicated to the largest collection of limited edition writing instruments in North America, enthusiastic connoisseurs will be able to see unique pieces ranging from the annual Writers Edition to Patron of Arts and the exceptionally rare pieces that are the specialty of the Artisan Atelier. Additionally, the cultivation of writing is further reinforced by two large writing desks – two retreats that stand ready to welcome the world’s literati.
“Montblanc has proudly been a part of the New York City community since 2003” said Jan-Patrick Schmitz, Montblanc North America President and CEO, “as a global leader in exquisite writing instruments and men’s accessories, we are eager to welcome our New York city family and travelers alike to our new home.”
The new location displays the Heritage Collection writing instrument, which honors Montblanc’s more than 100 years of continued leadership, highlights its technical innovation and celebrates the pioneering spirit of the early 20th century. The boutique is also home to the limited edition “Signature for Good Collection” to benefit UNICEF, launched during the 2013 Academy Awards and extended through March 2014.
Ten percent of the retail sales of items purchased from the special edition collection of writing instruments, jewelry pieces and leather accessories will help UNICEF improve access to education, including constructing schools in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
The latest timepiece launched at Watches &Wonders in September 2013 will make its North American debut- the ExoTourbillon Rattrapante as part of the Collection Villeret 1858. Montblanc timepieces are the product of the finest craftsmanship and best Swiss watch making traditions, as each piece is designed and created in both Montblanc’s Le Locle and Villeret manufactures and the brand is now only one of an exclusive group of watch manufactures in the world able to cover a watch making spectrum that extends from the art of haute horlogerie timepieces in its most traditional form through to the state-of-the-art innovation of today’s watch industry.
For over 100 years, Montblanc has embraced the traditions of lasting value and exquisite craftsmanship. The company’s uncompromising principles of design, style, quality and workmanship have allowed them to
create heirloom collections that are passed from generation to generation. The iconic Montblanc emblem is a symbol of excellence – the pinnacle of luxury writing instruments, timepieces, jewellery, leather, fragrances and sunglasses – and the brand has made an enduring commitment to encourage excellence through cultural advancement.
Montblanc has its roots in writing culture and therefore sees a particular obligation to
its own cultural commitment. Through various international activities, the company makes a creative
contribution to modern cultural life: Montblanc itself writes a small piece of cultural history.
