Hull Sail – A New Ship Concept

The Norwegian  inventor Terje Lade has developed a new concept for a ship, where the hull of the boat acts as a sail. This will give the boat extra boost and reduce fuel consumption by up to 60 percent.

A model has now been tested in a wind tunnel at the British Cranfield University and the results show that the boat could make up to 14 knots with just the aid of the wind.

Thru the link below Terje explains how he thought of this invention.
